Tonight we went with my husband's family to the Christmas Ranch in Morrow, OH. It was great! Our son loved it - it was much easier parking and less people than the Festival of Lights and just as beautiful. There were tons of little shops with everything from bakery goods to ornaments and trains. The trains were perfect and inside the same house were tons of 3 foot high Disney characters (which my son also loves). It was just the right type of Christmas venue for kids. Of course as soon as we arrived i could smell cookies, hot chocolate, and funnel cakes. It smelled delicious. You know, it was so cold I thought hot chocolate would taste good. So I decided I would treat myself to some (I never did gain after my slice of pizza!). You know what the funny thing is?! I'm so used to things that are sugar-free now that I just about couldn't swallow my first sip. Sound ridiculous doesn't it? But, I hated it. Way too sugary for me! Well, I guess that's what happens when you train your taste buds to go without hardly any sugar. Later one of my husband's sisters offered me a fresh baked cookie and it looked good however, still having the taste of the sugary hot chocolate on my tongue I was completely turned off by the cookie! Who knew I could EVER be turned off from a fresh, baked chocolate chip cookie!
