Today I weighed in at 116.8. I guess that means I can still continue to have the restaurant ranch that I bought! Yes! Truthfully, no matter what diet you choose to do, it's all about finding something that works for you and knowing you can do it the rest of your life. My Mom always has said to me, "Katie you are not living to eat; you are eating to live." What she was saying did not truly resonate with me until recently. Jenny Craig was just the program that finally taught me about portion control, eating a balanced diet from the food pyramid, and how to read labels. Once I learned about these things and truly was educated, I was committed to leading a healthier lifestyle. Everyone has their own opinions about what is healthy and it is up to you decide what aspects of healthy eating affect your waist, energy level, and possibility for long-term commitment. It took three years for me to figure out how protein, starches, sugars, sodium, and alcohol react with my body. The one thing that eases my mind is knowing and understanding what vital nutrients are necessary - I rarely worry over what I eat anymore. I can't tell you how much eating healthy has affected how I feel about myself (both physically and emotionally)!. Tomorrow on my blog I will fill you in on what I try to stay under in regards to sugar and sodium when I am reading a label...
